Unlocking the Power of Infrared Sauna: How Temperature Affects Your Wellness Experience
Infrared saunas are gaining popularity as a powerful tool for relaxation, detoxification, and overall wellness. But did you know that the benefits of infrared therapy can vary depending on the temperature? At Kairos Float & Wellness Studio, we offer infrared sauna sessions that allow you to tailor your experience based on your health goals. Let’s explore how infrared saunas work at different temperatures and what benefits each range provides.

How Infrared Saunas Work
Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas use infrared light to penetrate deep into your skin, heating the body directly. This leads to a more effective and comfortable experience, allowing you to reap numerous health benefits without the extreme heat of conventional saunas.
The Benefits of Infrared Sauna at Different Temperatures
Low Temperature (100°F – 120°F): Relaxation & Stress Relief
Ideal for first-time users or those who prefer a gentle heat.
Encourages deep relaxation by calming the nervous system.
Helps reduce cortisol (the stress hormone), promoting a sense of well-being.
Supports muscle recovery and mild detoxification through light sweating.
Moderate Temperature (120°F – 140°F): Detoxification & Circulation Boost
Enhances blood circulation, which supports cardiovascular health.
Increases sweat production, helping to flush out heavy metals and toxins.
Stimulates lymphatic drainage, further aiding in detoxification.
Can improve skin clarity by promoting cellular regeneration.
High Temperature (140°F – 160°F): Weight Loss & Deep Detox
Increases heart rate and metabolism, mimicking the effects of moderate exercise.
Enhances calorie burn, with some studies suggesting up to 600 calories per session.
Maximizes deep tissue penetration, reducing inflammation and muscle stiffness.
Ideal for athletes looking to recover faster and reduce lactic acid buildup.
Extreme Heat (160°F – 180°F): Intense Sweat & Maximum Endurance Training*
Pushes the body’s ability to sweat and regulate temperature.
Increases cardiovascular endurance by strengthening heart rate variability.
Can be beneficial for those training for endurance sports or extreme conditions.
Best for experienced sauna users who tolerate high heat well.
*Our infrared sauna will not exceed 160°F, if you want our sauna to be above 140°F you need to call the studio so we can book your session with enough preheating time to reach temperature.
