Wellness Protocols for People Regulated by Estrogen & Progesterone

Menstrual Cycle Phases (Based on 30-day cycle)

These protocols were designed based on the scientific evidence presented in Fast Like A Girl by Dr. Mindy Pelz.

Power Phase 1

Cycle Days 1-10 (menstruation)

Fasting Protocol: 13-72 hours

Food: Ketobiotic

Amino Acid Focus: Tryptophan, 5-HTP, phenylalanine (DLPA), tyrosine

Mineral Focus: Magnesium, choline, zinc

Vitamin Focus: Acetyl CoA, B vitamins

Hormone Focus: Insulin, estrogen

Healing Focus: Autophagy and ketosis

Our Services

  • Float: Floating is safe even during menstruation and can help relieve uterine cramping.  If your flow is heavy, wear a tampon to avoid contamination of the float water.

  • Cold Plunge or Contrast Therapy

  • Halotherapy (HALO)

Manifestation Phase

Cycle Days 10-15 (ovulation)

Fasting Protocol: 13-15 hours

Food: Hormone Feasting

Floating increases the magnesium in the body through transdermal absorption (through the skin). Most Americans are deficient in magnesium which is critical for over 300 metabolic reactions in the body, including muscle and nerve health. Float as often as you can to increase magnesium and support your metabolism and healing. (All cycle days are safe.)

 

Cold Plunge can reduce inflammation, improve immune function, burn fat, and increase the release of dopamine.  Timing it to your menstrual cycle is critical. Cold Plunge provides the most benefit when progesterone levels are lower (this is because when progesterone is surging, cortisol bursts decrease progesterone production). (Cycle days 1-10 and 16-19 are best.)

 

Red Light Therapy stimulates mitochondria (mitochondria have receptors for red light wavelengths on their membranes).  Naturally get red light when the sun is rising and setting or use our IR/RED Sauna to biohack this experience. Research has shown that red light increases testosterone, if you struggle during the manifestation phase of your cycle adding red light may help. Red light can also help with melatonin production and reset your circadian rhythm, giving you a better night’s sleep. (All cycle days are safe, maximal benefits during cycle days 11-15.)

 

Infrared Sauna (IR sauna) heats up your cells from the inside. This allows you to relax and prime your parasympathetic nervous system (rest/digest) which is great for the nurture phase of your cycle. IR sauna is great anytime, it is especially beneficial during the nurture phase. (All cycle days are safe, maximal benefits during cycle days 20-30.)

 

Halotherapy is a form of inhalation salt therapy to maximize lung function, reduce stress, and improve your wellness focus. This therapy can be used daily to promote mindfulness and relaxation. Halotherapy is safe to use at any cycle phase, this is especially beneficial for reducing cortisol, days 20-30.)
