Introduction to the Science of Mindfulness Meditation

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present in the moment. An awareness of where we are and what we are doing. Not overly reactive or overwhelmed by anything within our mental or physical space.

When you bring awareness to what you are experiencing using all of your senses, or to your state of mind through your thoughts and emotions, you are being mindful. And there is research evidence that demonstrates that training your brain to be mindful leads to a physical remodeling with the brain. Mindfulness can be as simple as focusing on the sensations you have while brushing your teeth or drinking your morning coffee, give it a try right now.
